Maldita Bleach Review

It was by chance that I discovered this bleaching cream called "Maldita Bleach". I discovered it through facebook. I am not obsessed of becoming fair or white or mestiza. I'm happily contented with my skin. Uneven skin tone is a sure problem due to genetics and too much sun bathing, yeah sun exposure, but other than that, I'm at peace with my skin color. But because of the too much rave about this bleaching cream, that is by the way Philippine made, I decided to give it a try. The price was between 180 pesos to 250 pesos. I'm not sure about the Maldita Bleach reseller price though. It is pricey if you ask me, because the container is way too big for what is inside it.  One container should last you only 1 whole body application, I guess.  You also need to do the bleaching process for 7 straight days and then you do the maintenance which is twice a week or so depending on the skin tone you want to achieve. Of course if you have a darker skin, it will take time for you to reach your desired "fairness".

The Maldita Bleaching cream smelled like it has "Perla" soap in it. It is  white in color. It looks like it has milk in it too. But the packaging doesn't really say what are its contents. I think, it should indicate the ingredients to inform the users of what they are putting on their body. The special ingredient may be kept secret though. Why am I saying this, it's because I just read that some popular beauty products like PONDS and OLAY have mercury.   That is why I feel it is obligatory that the consumers be informed of what products are made of. I believe it is our RIGHT!

Anyway, I decided to try the Maldita Bleach on my darker knuckles and feet. Not on the face, cause I'm afraid of any allergic reaction since our face has really sensitive skin. I tried the 7 day Maldita Bleach challenge. And the results? Well, it worked! The skin has lightened to about 2 shades lighter. It will take some more bleaching before those parts even out with the rest of my body. No itching at all during the 7 day bleaching period. You can actually see an improvement in the skin tone immediately thereafter.  I still have some or should I say quite a lot of the bleach left. But it is all wasted now cause the cream has a life span of only 2 weeks according to my seller. I did hear they have manufactured new Maldita bleach with a shelf life of 3 months. I'm not sure though.

Final Verdict:

Maldita Bleach works! But I won't be buying again. Why?First, I don't know the ingredients. 2nd, if one stops bleaching, eventually your skin will return to it's original skin tone.  3rd, I prefer all natural remedies for skin bleaching like lemon, potato, papaya, and milk.

If you have any questions about this whitening/bleaching cream, shoot me a comment or an email. I'd be happy to answer your queries.

God bless!

Glutathione Injectables' Side Effects: Is it bad for you?

If you've ever thought of trying this Glutathione Injectables, think again! You might be doing more harm than good to your body. You mustn't compromise your health for beauty's sake!

While I was "facebooking" (I don't know if this word really exists), I saw a post shared by someone regarding the use of Glutathione Injectables. I am not into this thing so I kind of just ignored it.  But since, it came up again the second time I opened facebook, I decided to read it.   What an eye opener!  What I thought was a safe thing, and can only do you good and make you more beautiful if beauty is even measured by being "white" by some (oh am not white skinned), turned out to be fatal.

If you ever wondered if Glutathione Injectables are safe, or if there are side effects from using them, you gotta read this.

Here's an excerpt of what I found from http://www.interaksyon.com/article/3424/fda-says-injecting-glutathione-can-cause-serious-harm-even-death

"The FDA advisory said the erroneous use of glutathione administered intravenously as a skin-whitening agent may trigger adverse drug reactions, with serious consequences on the health of users. Injections by untrained persons can also lead to serious infections; and needle sharing can spread such diseases as hepatitis and HIV/AIDS.

“The use of glutathione IV as a skin whitener is not approved by the FDA. The public is strongly warned to refrain from using glutathione for this purpose in light of potential harm associated with such use,” said FDA head Suzette Lazo.

“There is inadequate safety documentation on the use of high doses of glutathione administered at 600 mg to 1.2 grams once weekly and even up to twice weekly,” the FDA reported.

The use of “high doses” of glutathione can lead not only to skin rashes but also to potentially fatal skin diseases like Steven Johnsons Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, said the agency.

The practice could also impair thyroid and kidney functions, resulting in kidney failure and severe abdominal pain in a patient who injects glutathione twice a week.

Worse, a person who self-injects without any training could be in greater danger from serious infections, the introduction of harmful microorganisms including fatal sepsis; or the injection of air into the body, leading to blood clots that can clog the arteries.

The unsafe use of needles, like recycling and sharing, can result in the transmission of hepatitis B and even AIDS/HIV, said Lazo.xxx

Intravenous administration, however, delivers very high doses directly into the systemic circulation and may overload the renal circulation, causing kidney failure."

And  here's another one from http://globalnation.inquirer.net/cebudailynews/news/view/20110514-336413/Want-whiter-skin-Go-natural-FDA-says

"The FDA gave this bit of advice to complexion-conscious Filipinos, warning that high doses of glutathione administered intravenously as a skin-whitening agent has been linked to fatal skin disorders.

FDA chief Dr. Suzette Lazo on Friday expressed alarm over the recent cases of fatal skin disorders such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis linked to the unapproved use of glutathione IV administered at 600 milligrams to 1.2 grams once or twice a week.
?We have become increasingly alarmed that people use this in very high doses intravenously as a skin-whitening agent,? Lazo told reporters in a press briefing at the Department of Health office in Manila.

No FDA approval
She said the dosage between 600 milligrams and 1.2 grams administered as a skin-whitening agent has no approval from the FDA.

?The only approved indication for this format of glutathione is to help cancer patients cope with the toxicity associated with cisplatin chemotherapy,? said Lazo.

Glutathione is a natural and ?endogenous? substance or antioxidant produced by the liver to help boost the body?s immune system. But manufacturers of the glutathione solution have successfully marketed it for its whitening properties.

?Glutathione as a skin whitener was an accidental discovery which has not been really established or proven according to bodies of medical literature,? said Lazo.

?We would like to remind the public and warn them that glutathione injection is a very unsafe practice and I hope they will stop receiving these injections at this point to preserve their health,? Lazo added."

I understand that many of us who are not gifted with a fair skin would want to improve our complexion. But before we go with craze, let us be responsible enough to do our part of researching and consulting the experts.  We only have one body so we must take good care of it.

Why not avail of natural products to whiten the skin. Eat healthier too, and yes avoid the sun and always wear sunscreen.  Take care of yourself!

ProActiv Review 2013: Does it Work?

You've probably seen all the commercials about Proactiv Solution and mind you they are very convincing. Famous celebrities with their close to perfect if not perfect skins are endorsing this product. When you are an acne sufferer for years, you'll try all there is to finally put an end to your misery even if that means buying expensive products like Pro-Activ and fooling yourself that celebrities really use Pro-Activ. Nah! You are just kidding yourself.  But you've got to convince yourself that it does work because the famous pretty celebrity says it does. But then there is that strong voice inside you saying it doesn't.  Different voices are arguing inside your head. But we all know who wins. It's that voice telling you, "this might work. You will lose nothing if you try it. You have to try it. You have to cure your acne!". So you spend your hard earned money, half convinced that ProActiv will work. I don't know what your story is, but here's mine.

Adamant to cure my acne within 30 days time, I bought the 30 day kit of ProActiv in Watsons. It was priced at around 2,500 pesos. It was expensive. But if I get that flawless skin in as early as 30 days that would be priceless!

Before I used the ProActiv, my acne was no longer severe.  But I thought the healing period for my acne was slow.  I wanted everything cleared in 30 days or at least no new pimples by then. So, anyway, the 30 day Pro-Active kit has four products in it.

1. ProActiv Renewing Cleanser
2. ProActiv Revitalizing Toner
3. ProActiv Repairing Lotion
4. ProActiv Refining Mask (Free Product)

I started using it early in the morning upon waking up. I used the Renewing Cleanser to wash my face. Then I follow it up with the Revitalizing Toner, then the Repairing Lotion, then my favorite moisturizer. For spot treatments I used the Refining Mask.

On my first 3 days of using ProActiv, I noticed a tremendous improvement on my skin particularly on the size of the acne. Huge acne shrunk in size to about half the original size.  After 7 days of using the products, I had no new acne.  I told myself in the mirror, this thing really works!  But wait,  let's fast forward to the 2nd week....

-------->>>Acne... Acne... Acne... Dryness.. Dryness.. Dryness <<<------ b="">

It wasn't that bad but considering I was already getting better skin prior to using ProActiv, it was frustrating.  Not wanting to prematurely judge the effectiveness of the product, I waited for another 2 weeks, that is I used the product for the 1 whole month period. But I ended up feeling unsatisfied. After a month, I still had acne, the cystic ones. Skin dryness was also a problem.   Let me clarify that after a month, my acne condition did not get worse, but it was not cured. It was like the days when I didn't use ProActiv.  ProActiv is supposed to cure acne, stop acne from developing. But suffice it to say, it did not work! The only product that I fell in love with was the Refining Mask. As spot treatment it was great.  It shrunk huge pimples fast.

After I used up all of my ProActiv 30day kit which was about 5 weeks or over a month, I did not buy again.  I know it takes about 2 months for products to really work, but I just didn't see any much of an improvement using ProActiv to justify spending another two thousand pesos.

Yes, almost 3 thousand pesos down the drain all for nothing! That concludes my ProActive Review.

Right now, I'm 99% pimple free though using different products and advocating healthy lifestyle. It's been two months of having only one or two pimples occuring mostly during my periods.  I have scars, deep seated ones though which I have not been able to address fast.   But thanks to foundations and concealers, they do wonders! :)

Note: I have not been paid to do this review. I purchased ProActiv Solution using my own money.

Pond's Gold Radiance Youthful Night Repair Review

It's been a while since I made a product review. Oh well, it's time to share my experience with Pond's Gold Radiance Youthful Night Repair (with real gold microparticles) Cream! I've been using this night repair cream for almost 2 months now.  I have forgotten the exact date I used the cream, but it's almost 2 months already, hence it's a perfect time to express my likes and dislikes about this product. I have acne prone, oily skin, so do take that into consideration as you read my review of Pond's Gold Radiance Youthful Night Repair.

Accordingly, throughout the history, GOLD has been used to beautify the skin. Cleopatra's believed to have used gold to retain her youthful appearance. GOLD has also been used in many skin products before and today.  GOLD is a glittery pricey ingredient, so normally, you'd expect these GOLD containing beauty products to be heavy on your pockets. And Pond's Gold Radiance Youthful Night Repair along with the complete GOLD Radiance line from PONDS is no exception. The price for 50g Pond's Gold Radiance Youthful Night Repair is at 899 to 999 pesos.  But one 50g jar can last probably up to 3 months. So while it is expensive, it can last you months of usage.

There's a spatula included in the product. It's a pretty good addition because it ensures you don't spread bacteria from your face to the cream.

The product should be used ideally at night, but there are times when I'd use it in the morning especially when am just at home. The cream has this fresh smell which I like.It is not greasy when applied onto the skin. You just need a small amount of the cream per application. One thing I noticed however, is when I apply the cream in the morning. My skin tends to be more oily though out the day. Hence, I suggest you use the cream only at night.

You can definitely see the gold particles glittering on your face upon application of the cream. The cream gets absorbed by the skin so well. You can instantly see and feel your skin moisturized. It also provides some sort of coverage for your blemishes. But I won't recommend this as a base for your make up. It does make your skin oily or at least that's what I noticed.

Now, let's highlight what the product claims and review it on that context.  Based on the packaging, which I don't have a picture to show because my camera's battery just went dead, it says:

"Wake up revived, refreshed and younger looking. Infused with real gold, this luxurious cream works while you sleep to regenerate your skin's own youthful radiance."
Sounds good! ayt?! Is there a truth to this claim?

I must say "YES!!!"  (and I just added three exclamation points to it)

Pond's Gold Radiance Youthful Night Repair cream does work for me. Every morning, I always see my face  refreshed, revived, more moisturized, more plump, and firmer. I'm not sure if it did make my skin younger looking, but obviously am not seeing too many fine lines especially on my forehead.  Unfortunately the product didn't lighten my acne scars. But then in the first place it's not meant to lighten scars, but I just thought I should mention it.

So will I purchase again? Yes if I can allocate some budget for it. I still have the 50g jar which should last for another month. But am definitely excited to try the other range of Pond's Gold Radiance :)

Till my next product review!

***I am not being paid by PONDS to do this review. I bought the product using my very own money.***

Lactacyd White Intimate Whitening Feminine Wash Review

The first time I saw the commercial on TV about the Lactacyd Whitening Feminine Wash, my initial reaction was "Oh really, may ganun?! lol". Never have I heard of a whitening feminine wash before. Whitening creams for the face and body are all over the market, but a product to whiten a woman’s intimate part is a new one! Yay! So this product came as a surprise and drew curiosity out of me and perhaps to many ladies out there. Thus, the moment I saw one on the shelves of Watsons for under 60 pesos, I immediately grabbed it for testing. hehe.

The first question that popped to mind was does it whiten the outer surface of the sexy V or does it also whiten the minor general and the major general (sorry can’t spell it out but you know what I mean), as well as the black hairs on the mountain top? Lol..

Then the second question was this, how white can the V get with this whitening feminine wash? Can we use a whitening meter for this, similar to garnier’s and pond’s?lol..

Third question, can we see proof that this product works? A picture paints a thousand words and it sure spells out proof! Hahaha.. Okay, that’s mature! But oh boys you all love to see proof yayt?? And it is wrong to assume that which is yet to be proven! Hahaha.

Fourth question, what marketing strategy will work for this? My other persona has voluntarily suggested few marketing jingles “Isang Banlaw” (parang downy), or “Isang Babad ka lang”, “Binabad lang pumuti na”..awt! hhahaha

Fifth question, how come there is no intimate whitening wash for males, so a man can whiten his balls too? Are we seeing some discrimination here? Man, you’ve got to sign the petition for an intimate whitening wash for men! (:} And my other persona has suggested a jingle for this too “Whitens dark circles!”(parang pang eye bags lang) hahahah..

Final question, will Lactacyd Whitening Feminine Wash whiten my V? To know the answer you will have to wait for the before and after photos! Hahaha.. But wait, according to the product description, it will whiten your V in 4 weeks, so be patient people! Hahaha.

But, seriously, am not posting before and after photos…who are you kidding, me?!

Malunggay Leaves for Pimples? My Story!

Have you heard of applying malunggay leaves for pimples?  Have you even tried putting it on your face? Well, I did for over a week. And here is my experience.

I was suffering terribly with huge cystic acne that it was so embarassing to go out and talk to people. I lost my confidence because of it. I stayed home if I could and only go out when it is really important. People who saw me were all commenting about my pimples and how they have ruined my face. Those comments magnify the low esteem that I had. I felt depressed. It was a low moment for me.

Before, I also had acne problems and I found a solution that worked well for me. It stopped all my acne. But then I was too lazy and so I forgot about the regimen so the acne backfired. That wasn't long ago. That was just last June 2012. Traces of the my worst acne experience are still visible on my face. I have scars all over my face, over 20 of them mostly in tiny spots, that look like freckles. But am acne free now, hopefully forever!

So what I did, was I applied Malunggay Leaves on my face, entire face, and let it sit for at least 10 minutes to as long as 30 minutes. Malunggay leaves have anti-bacterial properties plus many other healing benefits. I was so desperate to get rid of my acne so it didn't hurt to give this "herbal solution" a try. And so I did that for over a week. Initially I was doing it twice a day, morning and evening for 3 consecutive days. Then I'd skip a day or two before I apply the regimen again. It really did work. Now I am acne free. No acne on my face, none at all (except for the scarring).

I don't recommend doing what I did, but if you are that desperate, and you've tried everything else to no avail, the call is on you! Malunggay juice helps to fight pimples, prevent pimples and heal pimples faster. It also helps in lightening scars.

Let me reveal exactly how I prepared the Malunggay Leaves:

1. Get enough Malunggay Leaves that you can use for the day.
2. Wash it with water.
3. Use mortar and pestle to crush, grind the malunggay leaves or if you have a blender you can use that. I personally use the blender at home. I just add half a glass to 1 glass of warm water, then blend the Malunggay Leaves.
4. Apply the malunggay juice on the face for 10 minutes or more.
5. You can also create a Malunggay Mask using tissue paper. I'll teach you how to do it below.

How to create Malunggay Mask Using Tissue Paper:
1. Cut the tissue paper into strips.
2. Pile the tissue paper strips one after the other depending on the thickness.
3. Now scoop some malunggay juice and put it on the tissue paper strips. The tissue paper strips must have the right amount of malunggay juice but not too much to avoid dripping.
4. Put the tissue paper strips on your face, avoiding the eyes, and mouth areas.
5. Wait for at least 10 minutes before removing the tissue paper strips.

Using tissue paper strips prevents dripping so you can still do your normal daily routines while on the regimen. I warn you, you will look like a "mummy" if you do this.. lol..

Please do a skin test first before using this regimen. Also always use fresh malunggay juice to avoid irritations. And yes one more thing, in combination with this regimen I apply the following:

  • Eskinol Cleanser with Dalacin C
  • Skinmate Shark Oil

Personal Time Frame of Usage: Over 2 weeks, this month of August.

That's it. I hope you also get to put an end to your pimples/acne. Remember that what might work for me might not work for you.

FYI: I don't use malunggay juice daily now. I just apply it once a week for maintenance.

Skinmate Shark Oil Review

There are many good feedbacks about the Skinmate Shark Oil from people I know. Their skin have gone really fairer and better using Shark Oil from Skinmate. Since, recently, I had the worst pimple breakout in my entire life, by that i mean there are more or less 10 pimples on my left cheek, the cystic type of pimples. It was the worst experience of my life. My confidence went down. I hated going out. I just wanted to stay at home.

I blamed myself because I stopped using "ESKINOL with DALACIN C" and "ICE TEA toner" which were my savior when I had breakouts in the past.

Anyway, I went back to using ESKINOL with DALACIN C, and started flushing toxins out of my body, through detoxification. After over a month of battling my worst ACNE Condition, I'm healing now. I also added one more special regimen to complete my "PIMPLE TREATMENT SCHEME". I will reveal that to you all very soon.

95% of my pimples are gone now. I only have scars here and there. I joke and tell myself I look like "BETTY LA FEA", if I wear my glasses on, plus my "bangs", and all those ugly dark/brown pimple scars all over my face ..lol.. Yes, I can laugh at it now. Thank GOD that horrible thing is over!

So, I tried ways to remove the pimple scars. Per recommendation of people who have tried SKINMATE SHARK OIL to remove their pimples scars and blemishes, I tried it.

Product: Skinmate Shark Oil
Price: Php 100/ biggest bottle
How to Use: Apply once a day for 7 days, then every other day for the succeeding weeks.

Duration of Use: Almost 2 months already

Results:
1st day: No peeling
2nd day: No peeling
3rd day: No peeling (although the peeling was supposed to occur by this time)
4th day: Slight peeling occured
5th day: Noticeable peeling occured.

Effects on pimples: They seemed to healed faster and produce less dark scars.

Overall effect on scars: 4/5. Am indeed satisfied. I still have my scars all over my face, but they are less visible now, and everyone in the house can clearly see the difference.  I didn't expect the Skinmate Shark Oil to drastically remove my scars. I didn't raise the bar that high  as to the end result of applying this product. But girls, am very pleased! My scars have lightened and my skin has gone better. I expect to see no more scars in 2 weeks to a month. I can't wait for it to happen. I will update you with the results then.

I definitely like the product. No pimple breakups. Scars have lightened faster. I'm definitely buying this product again.

FYI, I also use ponds whitening cream, during the days when I don't use Skinmate Shark Oil.

Anyway, I will keep you posted.

Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti Ageing Serum Review

I'm always on the search of the right product that will work on my oily, acne prone skin.  Sometimes, there are good products that I think really worked on my skin but only on a temporary basis. I believe I have a skin type that easily gets immuned to whatever I put on it. As a result, i rarely get to use same products for a long time. So it is safe to say I am always discovering what really works for me in the long term.

Anyway, here's my quick review of Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti-Ageing Serum. I should have made this review the past month, but was too busy then.

Olay Total Effects 7in1 Anti Ageing Serum

For the price, it's really expensive at about P698 (pesos).  But if you consider what it promises, the 7 effects on your skin, the price is just right, i guess.  Plus it's a serum, so you don't need that much to apply on your face.  The bottle could probably last you over a month to two months the most, if you just apply it on your face. But if you include your neck, you'd consume the whole bottle in a month's time or less.

How to Apply? Apply the serum every night before bedtime on a clean and toned face. Since it is a serum, you apply it first, then after 3 minutes or so, you can apply your other beauty products (layering). You can also apply it in the morning but I prefer applying it at night.

Effects? After application, you should feel your skin very soft, as if it's moisturized instantly. I love to feel the softness of my skin. But I feel it's a bit greasy. I don't know. Others don't think it's greasy though.  I feel the other way around. That's why I just put it on during night time because it feels greasy a bit and it makes my face shine. But i love the smell of this serum.

1 long month effect?  My skin felt pretty moisturized after a month. I don't wrinkles on the face yet and if there are some, I barely notice them. Oh well I guess the serum did help in preventing wrinkles on my face.  As for breakouts, I did breakout during the month I used the serum, but I am not sure if it's the Olay Total Effects Anti-Ageing serum that caused it. Nonetheless, the breakout was very minimal, just a couple of tiny dots on the forehead.

Will I buy it again? Yes I will, but not as a priority. As what I mentioned, i don't have problems with wrinkles. But this by far is the best SERUM i've used.

That wraps up my Olay Total Effects 7in1 Anti Ageing Serum Review. If you have questions regarding this product, feel free to comment. I'd love to hear from my readers. :)

5 Money and Time Saver Beauty Tips

Oftentimes our busy schedules hinder us from taking care of our precious self. So we tend to forget to do the things that we should be doing to keep ourselves looking beautiful. But this shouldn't be the case always. You can keep up with the demands of taking care of yourself with few money and time saver beauty tips.

1. Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize. You don't need to indulge in derm or skin clinics all the time. Just stick with the basic cleaning process and you should be fine.

2. Condition your hair. Too busy to go to a salon to get your hair treated. Then keep conditioning. Doing so helps your hair combat the damaging effects of the environment and the harsh chemicals you put your hair.

3. Keep your nails clean. You don't need those fancy colorful nail polish and designs. You just need to keep your nails clean all the time.

4. Skin the foundation and stick to concealers. You don't always need foundation. You can skip this routine and rather apply concealer on your blemishes. Concealers work perfect to hide those occasional acne you get. And don't forget to just dab it on and not rub the concealer.

5. Always wear sunscreen. This is the best tip by far I can share. Never skip wearing your sunscreen, whether it's sunny or not outside. Just wear one.

That's it for now. Just simple tips that you can do without spending too much time and money. Stay beautiful.

Yay, am back!

Maxi Peel Exfoliant Cream Review Part 2

This is a follow up post on my review of Maxi Peel Exfoliant Cream (this link opens in new window). This will be a short post because I've thoroughly made my observations in my previous post about Maxi Peel Exfoliant Creams number 1 and number 2.

Here's my verdict:

Do I like the product? - Yes, to a certain extent.
Am I satisfied with the product? - No
Will I still use the product?- No
What's my overall rating for the product? - 3/5

Let me explain. Maxi Peel Exfoliant Creams 1, 2 and 3 do work but with minimal results.  No visible peeling but I did not also see the results worthy of applause.  Yes, your skin gets lighter but no biggie. It's just those dead skin shedding off. You don't get the kutis artista the product is bragging about. You don't get it, not even close. Well, in the first place, that kutis artista notion is not  something to believe in. Too hilarious if you believe in it!  The point is, you don't get a fairer skin after using the product. It's just your old skin but this time with lesser and lesser skin blemishes.

Bear in mind I tried the product for two months, and nothing really happened. Initially you'd think your skin is becoming more radiant. Okay, in the spirit of fairness, maybe it's working. But in the long run, you will notice that nothing has changed. If there's been any improvement, it has stopped early on. Parang your skin has gotten immune to the effects of this cream.

I still have a tube of this Maxi Peel Exfoliant Cream number 3. I now use it rarely on my body scars, not on my face. I've moved on to using another product for my acne marks. It's called "Skinmate Shark Oil". This is being put to the test. I will give my review on this product after 2 weeks.

Anyway, I hope you can continue sharing my articles and spread our fan page throughout your circle of friends on facebook :)

Maxi Peel Exfoliant Cream #1 and #2 Review

Many of you know that I occasionally have pimple breakouts. I've had a good luck finding the right regimen to control my nasty pimples but from time to time I still get a few of them on my face. Stress, diet, pollution and hormones play a big part on having pimples. Anyhow, I get to tame them.

I'm more focused on the scars, the ugly marks these pimples leave on my skin. So yes I've tried so many scar removal creams, whitening creams, etc to solve the problem. I've tried many expensive one and of course the natural home remedies to erase scars. But still Im not satisfied. So then, I tried my luck with Maxi Peel Exfoliant Cream!

I've heard so many good things and a few negative ones about Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Cream. And this time around, I got to try it myself.

So, I used the Maxi-peel Exfoliant Cream # 1 first. Then I moved on to Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Cream #2  up to this writing. And I plan to use Maxi Peel Exfoliant Cream #3 for really stubborn scars.

Now, for my experience with Maxi Peel Exfoliant Cream:

Pros:
  • It's a cream which I prefer than using the solution, because I get to evenly apply it on my face.
  • The smell is just fine.
  • My face didn't turn red.
  • There is no visible peeling even after a few weeks of usage.
  • Scars seemed to lighten after 2 weeks.
  • No break outs.
  • If there are pimples they seem to heal faster.
  • Cheap at only 59 pesos up.

Cons:
I am not really satisfied with the "exfoliating" effects of the cream on my face. I expected the cream to do better. The pimple scars did lighten up but it's already almost a month of usage of this product but still I'm not getting the flawless complexion, scar free skin I'm looking for.  I was expecting too much perhaps. But I know another product that works better than this cream in such a short period of time, per observation from other people.

I started using #1, but felt it was too less effective, so I used #2 instead. But still am not satisfied. Hence, I will be using #3 soon enough to see if I'm more "hiyang" to it than Maxi-Peel Exfoliants #1 and #2. I will keep you posted then.

If you have tried using maxi peel exfoliant cream please share your reviews here. Do comment below :) . Till next time.

Beware: Unsafe Skin Whiteners List!

Skin whitening has been the trend worldwide but most especially in Asian countries like the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand to name a few. People use whitening products to whiten their overall complexion or to remedy uneven skin tones, or remove scars, acne marks, brown spots and skin blemishes. But how safe are these whitening products?

I do suffer from acne marks and other skin blemishes brought by my hormonal acne. So I do research a lot of these whitening products. I've tried many whitening products, mostly those that are advertised on television. You can check my previous articles about the products i've used.

Today, I'd like to share a list of Unsafe Skin Whiteners which I got online from this link (http://www.skin-whitening-product.com/unsafe-skin-whiteners.html). I am not sure this list is verified but at least we get be extra cautious in buying. Just do additional research of the products before you use them.

So here goes the list. Please share this on facebook so that others will know.

W-II AcBeGone Review: How Effective?

Who among my readers still have pimples all over their faces? Pimples can really destroy one's self esteem and confidence. Pimples are really annoying! So, if you wish to get some tips on how get rid of your pimples and pimples scars, feel free to check out articles about how I combat my pimple misery.  Stay for a couple of minutes on my blog :)

Anyway, have you heard of W-II AcBeGone Product? It's on TV and mind you the advertising is really really convincing! I've watched this W-II AcBeGone advertisement for 15 times or more for the past 2 months. Is AcBeGone effective in removing pimples and acne marks? I have thought of buying this product to see how it works. The promises this product offers are way TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! But out of curiousity and the slightest "WHAT IF IT WORKS" in my gray matter, are pushing me to draw money out of my pocket and buy this product. Yay, it's not a cheap item!

I will give an honest review of W-II AcBeGone product the soonest i get my hands on it.But for now, I'm still weighing things up especially on risking my almost pimple free skin to another possible skin irritant and pimple stimulant.

By the way, you will not see a detailed review of W-II AcBeGone online. But you see some comments of users of this product who are most of the time not satisfied with the results they are getting.  So if you are a sufferer of acne, do think 100 times before buying anything for your skin, as this might aggravate your condition.

Well, for me, what works taking care of my internal system. By that I mean, EATING RIGHT! Then all of those commercial products may be applied externally. So, yeah.. That it. But I don't want you end up getting frustrated not finding some remedy for you pimple. So I'm gonna some tips.

  •  Eat right
  • Drink at least 10 glasses of water. You have to flush the toxins out.
  • Wash your face not more than thrice a day.
  • Use gentle, anti bacterial facial wash, not SOAP.
  • Tone with Eskinol Derma Clear C + 175mg of Dalacin C.
  • Moisturize with a good moisturizer.

That's it for now. Wait for my review of W-II AcBeGone!
Have a wonderful day guys!

Natural Skin Whitening Tips

Many Asian women, want to have a whiter skin. Thus, we have so many products nowadays which offer whitening results in a short period of time. There are also many derm clinics who offer various ways of skin whitening. But they can be really costly, especially if you want a faster result. If you have the budget, then fine, but if you are short of money, well, it's time to think of other ways to achieve whiter complexion. Let me discuss a few of these.

There are cheap ingredients you can readily find in your kitchen or in the groceries or malls for a fraction of a price you normally have to pay for commercialized skin whitening products.

1. Lemons. The citric nature of lemons is good for skin lightening. However it can be drying to the skin as well. Depending on your skin sensitivity, you need to do a skin test first. Normally, it is not advisable to put it more than 30 minutes because it might burn your skin. Others however have higher tolerance and put lemon juice on their skin overnight.  You simply get a lemon, cut in half and squeeze out the juice. Then apply the juice on your skin for 30 minutes (or less or more, depending on your tolerance). Then rinse, tone and apply a good moisturizer.

2. Papaya. The papain enzymes in papaya is what helps you achieve whiter complexion. Just get a ripe papaya , cut it in half, and take a spoonful or more of papaya and rub it on your skin. Leave it on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse, tone and moisturize.

3. Tomato. Another good product to lighten your complexion. Get a ripe tomato, cut it in half. Take out the juice or just apply it immediately on your skin in circular motion. Leave it on your face for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse , tone and moisturize.

4. Honey. A perfect beauty companion. It kills bacteria, moisturizes and lightens the skin. Make sure  you get a natural honey or else you could simply be putting sugar on your skin. Leave the honey on your skin for 30 minutes to an hour. Feel refreshed afterwards.

5. Potato. Oh yes, potatoes are good bleaching agent. Just cut the potato in thin slices then apply it on your face in circular motion. You can also blend the potato if you want or use a food processor to create a mask.Apply it on your skin for 15 minutes.

Remember to do a skin test first before putting anything on your skin. Also take vitamin E and C to keep your skin healthy and glowing.

Glam Works Pimple Clear Anti Acne Gel Review

It's a rainy afternoon from where I am here in the Philippines. The rain is pouring hard. I just thought of letting you know..hehe..

Anyway, when I got my period a few days ago, I had major breakout. I had over 5 over sized pimples, or should I say acne.  Of course I freaked out. I started looking for the things to blame. I checked my lifestyle. Food intake? I was reckless for a few days for I was eating junk and drank soda, which were a huge No No! Sleep? I had very little of this for the past weeks.  I also consumed the last of my toner with Dalacin C, so for a week I was not toning my face. In sum, I fell short of the safeguards I should have been practicing to completely prevent pimples. My regular menstruation also contributed to the breakout of course.

But the good things is that the pimples are healing really fast. Thanks to Glam Works Pimple Clear Acne Gel. See photo below. I bought this product from Watsons for Php 149.00. This is my first time to try this product so, I thought I'd give you some reviews on this product.

Ingredients: (among others)
  • Salicylic Acid
  • Potassium Azelyol
  • Diglycinate
  • Triclosan
  • Cinnamon Extract
Description:
This unique combination works with each other to help unclog pores, kill bacteria, reduce skin redness and dry pimples.
Directions:
After washing your face apply the gel only unto the part of the skin with pimple. Spread liberally. Use twice a day.

          BFAD Registered

Price: Php 149.00

Rating: 9/10.

I've only been using this product for a few days. It might be premature to judge in such a short usage, but I'm not having a lot of time on my hands to blog, so please be warned accordingly :)

The product has gel consistency. It is not messy to use. The 25ml tube I bought is already a lot and I think you can use it for over a month. You just put a little of this gel on your acne and you feel a slight tingling sensation, which by the way, I think is soothing.

I applied the gel on my acne in the morning, afternoon and at night. During the first application, the swelling, redness is dramatically reduced in just a few hours. This is no exaggeration.  Take note I have huge bumps. Now on the second application, I noticed some of the pimples have dried up, meaning, they are no longer growing nor painful to touch.  The following applications of the gel, had the same effects.

In short, with no exaggeration, because I only want to share facts here based on experience, the product is really great. In such a short period of time, most of my pimples have dried up completely. What's left are ugly scars.

In combination with this acne gel treament, I also apply green tea gel. Of course I try to get back to my healthy lifestyle. You are what you eat right?

While I may have my occasional breakouts because of things beyond our control, like work, stress, busy lifestyle, etc, what's important is already know how to combat pimples or hasten the healing process. If you are suffering from acne, there's a cure to it. It starts with a healthy lifestyle..:)

If you want to read more about how to combat acne, my way, you can read this article of mine or browse through my other articles on Beauty and Fashion.

Purederm Olive Collagen Mask Review

First i'd like to shout Congratulations to all Filipinos! Manny Pacquiao won against Shane Mosley!
Yipeeey!

Life has been pretty tough on me lately. I literally moved out of the house. Not that I was kicked out or anything, but I was forced to because of my review. I did not just move out of the house, I moved to another city, alone! It's not a comforting experience to rent, cook for yourself, sleep alone at night, do the usual things you do without the familiar faces around you. I had sleepless nights as the stress triggered my insomnia, and I had to study for hours, lurking at the wee hours of the night in a very unfamiliar place, with all the anxieties and fears of just about anything creeping through my grey matter!

While the good news is I did not have breakouts. Unlike the past months were I get bumps here and there almost everyday. I maybe stressed out constantly right now, but I'm getting better almost pimple free skin again. almost because I had a zit on my forehead the other day. It has shrunk in size quicker than I thought. It's healing and perhaps in 3 more days, i'm good as pimple free again.

So what have I done? I made a post about my best pimple remedy right. So please go ahead read it first.
But then here's a short recap of what I do daily.

Morning:

  • splash cold water on my face to get the good circulation going/ take bath.
  • wash my face with a facial wash I use Garnier OilClear Brightening Facial Wash (Review coming up soon)
  • Apply toner on my face using Eskinol Derma Clear C with dalacin C.
  • Apply moisturizer with SPF 30 and which has collagen too. (got one from a facial clinic)

Afternoon:
  • Apply toner when needed.
  • Reapply moisturizer.

Night:
  • Wash face with Garnier OilClear Facial Wash.
  • Apply toner again.
  • Apply fade cream which also has moisturizer (got from a facial clinic)

The fade cream is amazing as it has brightened my face, eliminating a lot of the scars. I'm happier looking at my face now..Oh yeah!

So basically that's just what I normally do on a daily basis. I don't have Panoxyl anymore as there is no need. I don't always apply green tea anymore too.. But I still drink green tea every now and then. A liter of water a day is also very vital.

PUREDERM SKIN RECOVERY OLIVE OIL COLLAGEN MASK

But I'd like to introduce my latest fave finds. These are facial masks. What I have tried are those from PUREDERM. I've tried two of these facials masks, but I'll be reviewing the Olive Collagen Mask first.

Price:
79.00 pesos

Pros:
It is 100% pulp so it adheres to your face way better than any other masks I've tried.
It is not so wet as compared to the mask from Garnier.
It feels so good on your face.
Smell is just fine as well.

Cons:
There is only one. You are supposed to let it sit on your face for 10 to 15 minutes but you will have to let it stay extra longer as the mask has not dried up after that time. You don't want to waste the goodies from the mask, right?

Overall rating: 9/10
I love the mask as it makes the skin supple and more plump immediately. I don't have enough sleep lately. The longest sleep I could get is just 5 or 6 hours. This mask made a huge different instantly.  So yes I'm definitely gonna buy again and I will try the other masks too.

Facial masks are really great. They give you instant relief. They are not as costly as going to the derm clinic too. Although the effects are really different. Nonetheless, if you are not having troubles with pimples , pigmentations for that matter, you can skip the trip to the derm clinics and just pamper yourself with these facial masks.

Caution: Do not apply this on your face without doing a skin test first.  You don't want to get allergies, just in case you are allergic to some of the ingredients.

Till then.

My Best Pimple Remedy!

Wheew! Time passes so quickly and it's been a long while since I started Tickle Thy Thoughts! I didn't have the idea that I'd be really attached to this blog. I own a lot of blogs, some of which I simply have forgotten burried in the deepest chambers of the less active part of my Brainsss!  Guess, I often start things that  I cannot finish... ) But Tickle Thy Thoughts is meant to stay and to live! So while I may be extremely busy with all the hustles and bustles in my offline life, I choose to get some time off to blog and be "The Confessant" I so fondly call myself online.

My blog is meant to share information that are useful to all my readers.  have very limited time to be online, so let's get the parteee started!

I've been battling with pimples or acne for months. I've tried many remedies, expensive products that we all get to see advertised on tv and on gigantic billboards.  Some work, some don't. Some work momentarily. Others just leave you with more pimples. You can check my articles about pimples and the various products I tried.

I won't do so much talking please understand because  my time is very limited. But here's the thing. To get rid of your pimples and to prevent further pimples from showing, you can try what I apply.

What you need:

1.. Eskinol Derma Clear C 135ml (Or Ponds or Any Toner you like)
2. Dalacin C 150mg.

Preparation:
Just mix the Dalacin C to your Eskinol Derma Clear C Cleanser. Shake the mixture well.

Application:
Twice a day, preferably morning and before going to sleep. Apply this after cleansing your face. But if you have mild pimple you can just apply at night.

The Dalacin C contains antibiotic that kills the bacteria causing those pimples. I am no chemist. I also have just read this and heard this from other people. I follow the mixture above. And so far it works very well for me. As of this writing, I have no pimples, not one! I just have tiny scars but NO PIMPLES!

In combination with this treatment, maintain proper diet. Eat healthy foods.

VERY IMPORTANT
Drink Green Tea at least once a day. Apply the green tea to your acne as well. It has healing properties.  This is very important. Green Tea is very important. I used to drink 2 to 3 cups a day when I was still on the healing process. I also apply green tea on my face for a few times in a day. Don't skip this please if you want to be pimple free.

And don't forget to drink at least a liter of water if you have mild acne. If you have severe acne, raise your water intake to as much as 2 liters. Remember not to over drink in one setting.  That's not good for your body. Detoxify as well. Green Tea  and water are good detoxifiers.  If you can bear it, then do the apple detox diet. This is how I do it;

  • Eat at least 5 apples in a day for 3 days. You can skip meal if you also want to lose weight or just eat minimal amount of food, no coffee, processed juice nor soda nor liquor.
  • Drink water a lot of it!

For Spot Treatment of your pimples, use tea tree oil. Panoxyl works well for huge pimples, but it tends to give you dark scars, so I don't recommend it.

To reduce redness and swelling, do the ice treatment:

  • Get ice cubes wrap them in a cloth then apply on your pimple. Place it on your pimple for as long as you can bear it. Then wait for a minute or two, then do the same process again. Do this ice treatment at least twice a day depending on the need.

Some don'ts you should remember;

1. Don't touch your face often specially with those unclean hands
2. Don't prick your pimples, no matter how tempting.
3. Don't apply products without doing a skin test.
4. Don't let your shampoo/ conditioner touch your face when in the shower.
5. Don't sleep on your side, that is if you can handle it.
6. Don't stay late at night. This triggers stress, which can trigger acne attacks.
7. Don't eat the foods you think trigger your acne. If you feel certain foods make you breakout more, then you are probably right.
8. Don't smoke and stay away from people who are smoking.
9. Don't drink too much coffee as too much coffee triggers stress which leads to pimples.
10. Don't hate yourself for having pimples. Think positive. Maintain a happy spirit as this radiates on the outside.

I hope I get to help you. Sorry I am in a rush. I have so much to share but I am not as free as I used to be. But I will update more and answer many of the comments in my other articles that I have not answered.

thanks a lot and do share my page on facebook :)

Have a happy life everyone and God bless!

Summer Hair Care Tips

It's summer and for many women, one of the biggest problems during summer is hair damage. The sun is our hair's worst enemy too. Too much heat from the sun during summer is a seasonal enemy of our precious hair, not just for women but also men. The heat causes increased porosity which leads to weak, easily broken hair strands, dryness, hair color fading, dandruff , frizzy hair and split ends. Imagine your hair under heat treatment of over 50 times during summer, when left unprotected.

What can you do to protect your hair this summer? What are some Summer Hair Care tips you should bear in mind? Let me discuss a few.

1. One important REMINDER or make this a RULE: Try to Avoid the Sun as much as possible! But avoiding the sun completely during summer is impossible unless you lock yourself in a dungeon, right? So I say "TRY".

2. Wear protective clothing. Wear hats, caps, bring umbrellas whenever you are out in the sun. Simple to do but some still ignore wearing hats or bringing umbrellas. Males, do bring umbrellas too.. You won't lose your masculine you :)

3. Shampoo and Moisturize/Condition your hair daily.  Use a good shampoo and conditioner. Again this applies to all- both men and women.
4.  Do a weekly hair treatment- extensive moisturization/conditioning - (hot oil) You can do this at home or head over to a good hair salon.
extra tip: Apply mayonaise on your hair. You can apply plain mayonaise or mix some olive oil in it.. Leave it for 20 minutes or so..

5.  Take your vitamins. There are many vitamins that are so good for your hair. We have Vitamin B-Complex, Vitamin B-6,  Vitamin C, and Vitamin E. Beta Carotene is also good for your hair.

And don't forget to drink lots of water!

P.S. Sorry for not updating that often. I was on a trip and there was no internet connection. Grrr.. I  hate that when it happens. Being offline felt like I was disconnected from the universe..:)

7 Things You Should Do To Avoid Eye Wrinkles

Too much emphasis has been given on taking care of our facial skin, but people tend to forget how just important it is to take care of our eyes as well.  The skin around your eyes needs a different kind of care. You can't use the same cream that you use on  your face, for your skin around the eyes. The skin in the eye area is so thin and sensitive. There are things we need to always remember to protect our eye area.

Eye Wrinkles make one look old. The saggy eye bags and the dark circles add a few more years to your age. This is not good.  So what do you need to do to avoid Eye Wrinkles? Read and learn..

7 Things You Should Do To avoid Eye Wrinkles

1. Always wear Sunglasses! Some people despise wearing Sunglasses, but the constant squinting causes crow's feet and forehead wrinkles.  You squint and squint for years and that creates creases on the skin around your eyes.

2. Always wear Eye Cream with SPF. The skin around the eyes is thin that it ages faster than any other skin in your body. So wear an eye cream with SPF.

3. Don't sleep on your belly! Why? Doing so creates creases on the side where your eye gets in contact with your pillow. Through the years, this can cause permanent lines or wrinkles.

4. Don't overdo eye massaging! Massaging the eye area is good as it promotes proper blood circulation, but don't overdo.

5. Be very gentle with your eye area. When you need to put make-up or remove make up or apply cream on your eye area, be very gentle! Needless to point out the fact that skin is so thin in that area. Rubbing your eye area roughly contributes to hasten wrinkling of the skin.

6. Drink an extra glass or two of water after a night of less sleep or during hot summer days. Doing so hydrates the skin around your eye area.

7. Get enough rest during the night and take naps during the day. This keeps your skin around the eyes looking plump. This also wards off fatigue and stress. We all know stress and fatigue, lack of sleep in a way encourages wrinkles. So keep your body well rested.

Garnier Light Complete Multi Action Whitening Cream Reviewed!

Any product that promises to control oil and shine on my face definitely catches my attention. So yes, the Garnier Light Complete Multi-Action Whitening Cream was too tempting that I ended up buying the 20 ml tube for a price of PHP 65.00. I bought this product for 3 purposes:
  1. To control oil and shine on my face.
  2. To help fade my acne marks.
  3. As make up base/ as a substitute for face powder as it gives a matte finish.
Garnier Light Complete says on its package that is a Multi Action Whitening Cream:
  • Anti-dullness
  • Anti dark spots
  • Anti acne marks
  • 8 HR shine free Look
  • With UVA/UVB Filters

Is the product effective?
I've been using this product for 2 weeks now. I'm using it in combination with other products as well. The cream is a bit thick, I guess but it does give you that matte finish after application.  It's got this lemony scent which I don't like that much but I don't despise either.

As for the "anti-dullness" effect, well, i am not sure about this.. the product does make your skin look better after application, but haven't noticed much of a difference yet.

As for the "anti-dark spots" and "anti-acne marks" effect,s the results are satisfactory. I've noticed scars have lightened up a bit.  The product seems to work slow in fading out acne marks.

As for the "8 hour shine free look", the product only works from 3 hours to 5 hours for me. Why the variation?  If I stay indoors, away from the harsh environment, the product keeps me oil free for up to 5 hours. But if I'm out, oil start accumulating on my face just after 3 hours so I end up using oil blotting film and retouching every now and then. {Please take note when I also use the "Clean and Clear Deep Action Cleanser Facial Wash" which also promises to give you an 8hour shine free look, my face tend sto stay oil free up to 6 hours.}

As for the UVA and UVB Filters, well, I am not sure if we can call this as similar to "sunblock" or "sunscreen". But before I proceed, let me quote this:

UVB Radiation
UVB affects the outer layer of skin, the epidermis, and is the primary agent responsible for sunburns. It is the most intense between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm when the sunlight is brightest. It is also more intense in the summer months accounting for 70% of a person's yearly UVB dose. UVB does not penetrate glass.

UVA Radiation
UVA was once thought to have a minor effect on skin damage, but now studies are showing that UVA is a major contributor to skin damage. UVA penetrates deeper into the skin and works more efficiently. The intensity of UVA radiation is more constant than UVB without the variations during the day and throughout the year. UVA is also not filtered by glass.

Damaging Effects of UVA and UVB
Both UVA and UVB radiation can cause skin damage including wrinkles, lowered immunity against infection, aging skin disorders, and cancer. However, we still do not fully understand the process. Some of the possible mechanisms for UV skin damage are collagen breakdown, the formation of free radicals, interfering with DNA repair, and inhibiting the immune system
(source: about.com)

I think, it's a good thing to have UVA and UVB filters in this product. But to be safe, I use sunblock a few minutes after application of the Garnier Light Complete Multi Action Whitening Cream.

My Final Verdict
The product deserves a thumbs up for me! No breakouts! Acne marks are sloooowly fading.(still better)  and the product somehow makes me oil free, although for only a little span of time than as indicated on the product. But yeah, anything that  helps me stay oil free is good, right? So if you have oily skin that is really annoying, you can try this product and see if works for you. Bear in mind that people react differently to  beauty products. Your skin might just love this product. Just do a skin test first if you fear getting breakouts.

Rating: 4/5.
